Fire Codes & Regulations

The City of Merced adopted the California Fire Code (CFC), 2025 Edition, as the City's Fire Code, with certain amendments. The regulations contained within the 2025 CFC took effect on January 1, 2026. Local Amendments to the 2025 edition of the California Fire Code are published in the Merced Municipal Code and adopted through Ordinance No. 2583.
