Swimming available for Merced youths and adults

Beat the heat and take a refreshing dip in one of the pools the City of Merced has open this summer.

The City has recreational swimming at McNamara Pool, 1040 Canal St., open from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday in June and July. The cost of the swimming is $1 for youths under the age of 18 and $2 for adults.

In addition, there is lap swimming for adults at McNamara Pool from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday night through July. There also is lap swimming for adults at the Merced High School Pool, 205 W. Olive Ave., from 7 to 8 p.m. every Thursday night.

The adult lap swimming program is part of the City's H.E.A.L. Program (Healthy Eating Active Lifestyle Program) and is provided at no cost at this time.
