The City of Merced encourages its citizens to take an active interest in matters pertaining to their community. City Council meetings are open to the public and your respectful and helpful comments are always appreciated. If you have a matter of concern or interest that you feel the City Council should be made aware of, please see the materials below for more information and instructions on how to present these important issues before the members of the Council.
There's a new way to request to speak at City Council meetings. Follow the instructions below to sign up online to speak at a meeting.

How to Sign up Online to Speak
At the Meeting
Before public comment begins on the agenda item:
In Person: Check in with the Deputy Clerk to let them know you have arrived. When your name is called, line behind the podium until it is your turn to speak. The timer in the Council Chamber will tell you how much time you have remaining.
By Phone: Dial in to the conference line at (209) 600-0893 using the instructions in the e-mail reminder. You'll be notified when you are next in line to speak. When it is your turn to speak, begin your comments after the prompt.
Staff from the City Clerk's Office are available to assist in the chamber or by phone at (209) 388-8650 Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (closed from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm for lunch).
