Merced Police Department is hosting a Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEADS) training

Training will educate alcohol licensees on the rules and regulations

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and the Merced Police Department are offering a free, in-person training to all Off-Sale licensees (grocery / liquor stores) and their employees through the Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) training program.

This training provides attendees with practical information on selling alcoholic beverages safely, responsibly, and legally, with an emphasis on preventing sales to minors, sales to obviously intoxicated persons, and illicit drug activity at the licensed establishment.

Each training is approximately 3.5 hours and is instructor-led by a certified Department LEAD Trainer on the following topics:

  • Community Relations
  • Licensee and Employee Liability
  • The Law and Minors
  • Checking Identification
  • Intoxication
  • Illicit Drugs
